Sulle orme di Kandinskij
Vasilij Kandinskij, Composition (Landscape), 1915
An exhibition dedicated to one of the world’s greatest 20th century artists: Vasily Kandinsky (1866-1944). An unprecedented exhibition in Italy in terms of the number and quality of the works on display: eighty masterpieces by the great Russian master, dating from around 1900 to 1940, plus paintings by his “fellow travellers”, such as Gabriele Münter, Paul Klee, Arnold Schönberg, Alexej von Jawlensky, Marianne von Werefkin; as well as original edition books, documents, photographs, rare period films, memorabilia and folk art objects. All this to unravel the enigma of Kandinsky and follow in the footsteps of his creative path, in the constant relationship with the musical dimension and the deep roots of his Russian origin.
